What to expect

Sessions, results and the longer view

Why a course is usually needed, what reduction means and where maintenance fits in.

A useful treatment plan sets expectations for more than the first visit. It should explain how a course will be reviewed and what you might need after it finishes.

Think beyond one appointment

Alma’s FAQ gives 6–8 sessions as a typical range, depending on skin and hair type. This is guidance, not a promise of a particular result or a prescription for every person.

Ask the practitioner what they recommend for each area and how they decide the interval between visits. Make sure your schedule allows you to attend the planned appointments.

What reduction means

The aim is to reduce unwanted hair over time. Hair may regrow, and maintenance appointments can be part of the longer-term plan. Your skin, hair and treatment area influence the response.

Keep the comparison consistent: talk about changes in the amount of hair and your routine rather than judging your whole course from a single day. Ask when the clinic will review whether the plan is working for you.

After each session

Redness, swelling and discomfort are possible after laser treatment. Follow your practitioner’s aftercare instructions and sun-protection advice. Ask the clinic about symptoms that persist or concern you.

A full consultation should also cover less common risks, such as burns, pigment changes and scarring. Understanding those risks is part of choosing treatment, even when a device emphasises comfort.

Plan for the full course

Ask whether your quote is per appointment or for a package, how additional sessions are priced and whether review visits are included. Knowing those details helps you compare the complete plan and decide whether it fits your budget.
